Learn all about the sweet world of maple tree tapping with local expert, Dane Rasmussen. Dane is a naturalist at Sarett Nature Center and has been collecting and processing maple syrup for 10 seasons. In this 3-hour program, he’ll share everything you need to know about historic and modern maple sugaring methods, tree identification/biology, and how to set up a tapping system in your own backyard. Attendees will enjoy a brief hike, a syrup-processing demonstration by the fire, and free syrup tasting!
