Getting There

Fernwood is located in scenic Berrien County, orchard country of southwest Michigan.

From Interstate 80/90 or US 12, take US 31 north to Walton Road (exit 7). Turn left (west) on Walton Road and travel 1.7 miles to Range Line Road. Turn right on Range Line Road and travel north 1.7 miles to the Fernwood entrance on the left side of the road. Look for the signs along both US 31 and Walton Road.

From the North, travel south on US 31 to Walton Road (exit 7). Turn right (west) ontoWalton Road and proceed as above.

Hours

From May through October, Fernwood is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6.

From November through April, Fernwood is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5. (Please note: during the month of December, Fernwood opens at 12 noon.)

Above hours are Eastern Time.

Fernwood is always closed on Monday.

Holidays

Fernwood is closed on all Monday holidays, on Easter Sunday, over the Thanksgiving weekend, and for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year holidays.

  Adults $6
  Seniors (65+) $5
  Youth (ages 13-18) $4
  Children (ages 6-12) $3
  Children 5 and under Free
  Members Free

An additional fee may apply for some special events.

Fernwood shares reciprocal admissions with many botanical gardens and nature centers throughout North America. If you are a member of a participating garden or nature center, you are admitted free.

Pets

Companion animals are not allowed at Fernwood, except for dogs guiding people with disabilities.
